In the end, I’m becoming more and more British when it comes to sunny day. While in Rome I took them for granted most of the time, here in London as soon as I see a ray of light my mind shift to ‘undress and lay down on the grass’ mode. And that’s exactly what we did yesterday.
We headed to Kenwood House, in Hampstead park, it was us and Viola’s best friend. It’s amazing how they love eachother and how they totally neutralize eachother, playing all day long with absolutely nothing while adults can finally chill a bit.
In the big green vale in front of the House, people were sunbathing, playing, having picnics. The day was incredibly hot and, layer by layer, you could see more and more super-pale skin shining under the sun. Now I understand why you Brits are either mozzarella-white or suddendly roastbeef colored 😀
While I was enjoying some sun, Viola thought it was a great idea to cross a little river, with white shoes. Of course it was, at least for my picture-taking cravings (now we have a brown and a white All Star, I have to find a way to make people believe this is the last trend):
Anyway, life is always better barefoot and I still can’t believe that in London parks I can walk around with no shoes and not a single worry about stepping on dog’s poo, broken glasses and dirt like in Italy (sad but true).
You can visit the Villa, or relax at the café for a lunch, tea or an ice cream on the go (we tried the mint choco chip, and it was so yummy!).
So keep this name in mind: Kenwood House, and remember it the next time you’re in London during a super sunny day 🙂
