A few things I’m grateful about: living in London, such an amazing city. Sunny days, which I’ve come to appreciate so much more. Blogger friends who are also talented photographers like Jacintha, who took the pics in this post. I love them!
Do you remember when I told you about the Berkeley rooftop pool and SPA? I was wearing a bikini from the summer collection of Goldenpoint, a really cool Italian brand, and in this post I am wearing some pieces of the winter one. They mostly do leggings and tights, which I personally love to wear in winter: they are so cozy, comfy and stylish at the same time! On a cold winter morning nothing’s better than slipping inside a pair of warm leggings and pair it with a soft maxi sweater and boots, don’t you agree?
Me and Jacintha spent a morning in Spitalfields Market, snapping our way around. I had so much fun playing the model, walking while hearing the camera clicks behind me. Shameless? Quite so, but it’s East London baby: there were at least two couple of hipsters shooting in the same road, AND they had light panels too! 😀
Spitalfields Market (here some more pics, sorry the post is in Italian) is located in East London, close to Liverpool Street and Brick Lane. It is a Victorian Age market, founded around the middle of 1800 and recently refurbished. Together with Camden and Portobello is one of the most popular (and touristic) markets in London, still has a great vibe and it always has something going on.
Although most of the stalls have cheap, cheesy stuff, you can still find something special. Leather bags and suitcases, jewels, something vintage, vynils and – since the stalls change quite a lot – unique things from all around the world. Last year, for example, I bought some Mallorca Island shoes for Viola and the stall I was looking at in the pic below sells wool scarves from Tibet.
There are quite a few restaurants in Spitalfields, even if most of them are chains like Leon, Giraffe, Wagamama. You can still grab something to eat at one of the ethnic stalls selling curries, noodles and wraps or indulge in something sweet – like a cupcake or a brownie – in one of the many food stalls.
Don’t just visit the market: get lost in the streets behind it. Some of them seem still in time: cobbled pavement, brick buildings and even some vintage cars (and, yeah, a stoned guy with a guitar who was singing a serenade to a rose bush).
In this post I am wearing a top and leggings from Goldenpoint. The leggings are velvety and incredibly comfy and warm. I bet they’ll be my favourite when the winter will come.
If you’re into fashion don’t miss Spitalfields on a Saturday for the Style Market, where you’ll find young designers collections, accessories, home decor and more.
And, oh! The Gherkin provided quite a cool background, didn’t it? Its official name, by the way, is 30 St Mary Axe.
And last but not least… the best pics of the day!
We found this installation in the square facing the market. The light effect was so amazing!
(top down: me, utterly inspired. me, ‘not gonna make it’ face. me, finally happy :D)
Here you can find all the GoldenPoint collection, including the seamless tights, which I will show you soon…
